Cavanstone at Eastwood welcomed some special visitors on the morning of 27 October 2011. Nearly 100 school students in Year 4 of Epping West Public School visited the completed homes, wetland and heritage precinct within the estate, in the company of their teachers and AVJennings staff. During the guided tour AVJennings staff helped the students understand the history of Cavanstone, development status, environmentally friendly design features like the wetland and the water tanks in individual households, and product and services in this exclusive community. Both the students and the teachers were impressed by the picturesque landscaped surrounds, well designed and quality built homes, the heritage site with a richly textured past and the low maintenance metropolitan life style. The students learnt how AVJennings will protect the heritage site and build a park around it. They were excited to see the wetland, which sits in the corner of the estate and is surrounded by trees and grasses. It was designed to control drainage in the whole estate and now has become a habitat for ducks, birds and other local wild life.
This brand new neighbourhood is also wired for the latest technology. To bring modern communication and entertainment services to the residents, AVJennings has aligned with Australia’s leading telecommunication companies to make the new homes smart wired and connected to the National Broadband Network. The students had a chance to see a sample smart wiring hub on display.
Anthony Dalla Fontana, the project manager of Cavanstone, provided a perfect finish to this pleasant tour by handing out AVJennings branded souvenirs to the students and wishing them all the best in their studies.
